Shem: The Priestly Master Of Truth

Parashas Shelach: Forward Progress and Without Looking Back

                             Rabbi David P. Katz

In the Torah Portion of Shelach, The Jewish People make a classic repetitious shortcoming of wanting to retreat and reverse course back to Egypt. If it was not bad enough with the episode of the spies in the beginning of the Parsha (which led to Tisha B’Av [9th of the Jewish month of “Av”], of which the Jewish People have been agonizing over for thousands of years trying to reverse the grieving into a celebration of joy; Moshiach is said to be born on [the reversal] of Tisha B’ Av [9th of the month of “Av”]) and the speech of slander that they spoke against the Land, now they immediately fall directly into pure exile mentality of, “Let’s return to Egypt!” The audacity of such crimes is premised on the fact that until now, they were practically upon the threshold of Moshiach and the 3rd Temple! Once this opportunity is spoiled with negativity, it becomes the destruction of the Temple (1st and 2nd) and we now rely not on Moshiach, but the prophetic and future-based “Birth of the Moshiach.” (Talmud Yerushalmi)
The basic lesson to be learned from the doubt of progression is the Forward Movement of pure “אמנה” / Emanah (a derivative of “Emunah” – Faith). Emanah is stronger than faith, in that it contains the basis of service of God, all in one concept; Faith is an offspring of Emanah. [Emanah can simultaneously mean any of the following: Loyalty, Truth, Covenant of Truth, Confident, Amen, Faith, etc.] One important fact to keep in mind is that the entire Torah is made of this Emanah! [Talmud Makkos based on a verse in “Habbakuk” in Tanach states that the entire Torah is comprised within one Commandment: “צדיק באמונתו יחיה” – “The Righteous Lives by his “Emanah-ness!”] If the heart of exile is the lack of this Truth [Emanah translated as Truth – Targum Yonaton on the word: Emunah, which is a derivative of Amanah], to the extent that the Jewish People have living within this fallen state for thousands of years, where in the Torah (or World for that matter) do we find the solution? Being that the verse in Habbakuk speaks of the Righteous and the Truthful (of Amanah/Emunah); perhaps we should turn to Noah and Shem, who the Torah defines under these two terms. Noah is termed Righteous by God Himself, and what may be seen as a surprise to some, the Torah states that Noah was short in his Truth. However there is not to worry, as where Noah is limited, Shem shines forth as the excellence of Truth and serves to the Honor of his Righteous father Noah! Where the Jewish People have stumbled and Noah just missed the cut, as expressed by retreat and a hesitance to enter the Ark right away (which was the seat of Noah’s lack in Truth), Shem ran with the baton of progression, Truth, and Righteousness into the Ark at the first possible moment, thus equating into the polar opposite of this reiterating sin and basis of shortcoming. It is exactly for this reason that Shem was elected to be one of the four Craftsmen of Redemption. [Talmud Sukkah 52b] Shem was the better fit based on his craft even more so than Noah. As ironic as it may seem that Shem would be identified by craftsmanship within the Ark more than Noah, is testimony to his eagerness to fulfill the Command and hasten the Redemption by rushing into the Ark, and thereby earning the merit to take part in the final craftsmanship: the Third Temple in the End of Days!
The Ramban states [Noah 7:7; 7:1] that Noah was of what Rashi states as “Small Faith” [Small Truth] and that Midrash Rabbah on the same selection of Torah explains this as “Lacking Faith” in Noah’s association with the Flood Waters and the Command of entering the Ark. To see the Greatness of Shem amongst the Chaos, let’s now quote Rashi [7:7] and then the Ramban [7:7/1]; [7:7] – “And Noah came and his sons came and his wife, and the wives of the sons, with him, to the Ark, because of the floodwaters.”… [Rashi] – “even Noah was of “Small Truth”; he was however full authentic levels of Truth[!] (Which begs the question, where was the shortcoming?!) – he didn’t believe that the floodwaters would come, and he didn’t enter the Ark until the waters forced him.” Noah erred on a major philosophical point, that Hashem’s greatest miracles are when Hashem grants the miracle in nature rather than superseding it! The answer was not to miraculously end the Flood, but rather work Redemption through the Flood. [Ramban] Through this hesitancy, Noah did not rush into the Flood, and the scar of such a minute mistake was eternally being deemed as one without Faith! It is said that the punishment of the Righteous is far more severe than anyone else; Noah was one of two Men in the Torah to be called Righteous! King Solomon suffered similar fate, when the Torah called him an idolater for not being the promised Messiah son of David; Noah also was tasked with the salvation of the World, and he succeeded! – Just not to the par excellence that Hashem desired and saw from him. The Midrash states that Noah was held accountable for from him would come Moses, and of course the entire Torah! Just as Hashem looked into Moses and saw nothing but the image of God (From Moses’ perspective, he saw only God in the World, and when Hashem looked into Moses, Hashem “saw Himself” through Moses’ gaze - Ramban), in Noah too, Hashem saw the Final Redemption, Torah, and God filling the World with Knowledge of God! Thus the margin of error was ZERO! Noah feels the pain of the scar of shortcoming until this day, but we can be sure that the bitterness of lack, is the fuel that burns within the eternal soul of Noah, that will eventually bring the Final Redemption, as Moses is the final redeemer, and he is a direct Re-incarnation of none other than Noah! From the pain of his failure, (“Noah lacks Faith”) will be the means of his “Chassidut” – in making bitter waters sweet with the powers of “Higher Intellect”, for Noah will finish his job in the End of Days, when it will be said that Noah is the Man of Faith! (Moses and Noah are one, and the inverse of Moses in Gematria is 102: Emunah/Faith!)
The Ramban on 7:7/1 thus states the following: “Noah was lacking in Truth, for the waters began to reach his upper ankles and he still had not entered the Ark. [Thus only with a height of the waters did he enter the Ark, as opposed to Rashi who explained that he did not believe that the waters would even reach his ankles!; here, he waited to see.] The Ramban then comes with a very interesting suggestion [understood in the manner of “Secrets”, which is the style of the Ramban – Medieval commentator]…”if so, then we must say, that Shem did not enter until the waters strengthened and covered the face of the entire earth, and he saw this was Nature! [As in, the Miracle was being worked through Nature!] We see here that where Noah was weak (and we can interpret 7:7 as the whole family had to influence Noah to get into the Ark, as it says, “… they all came ‘with him’” – which one can induce also that perhaps “with him” was a reference to Shem, who perhaps according to the Ramban was already in the boat! And when it said, “and his wife” this was not a reference to Noah’s wife, but Shem’s! – for according to the Zohar, we already know Noah’s wife entered, as she is allegorically compared to the Ark itself!)
The Verse 7:1 states, “and God said to Noah come! You, and your entire House to the Ark, for you I see as the Righteous before Me in this generation.” Rashi states that this was partial praise as to not embarrass Noah, yet if it was partial praise, there must be another worthy of the remaining Praise! Shem would be the other Righteous Soul, and he expressed merit in entering the Ark of which rewarded him a direct aspect of the End of Days as a Craftsman of Redemption. Noah would see it too, but through reincarnations of Moses and Shem. With this said, what was the source of merit from Shem?
The commentators state that this declaration of God to Noah was specifically for him and no other. It was Noah’s merit that the World was saved. Thus in the Ark, Shem had learned the powers of Redemption, yet still maintained honor for his father, even after the evil of Cham upon Noah! Shem let his father’s merit carry him to its natural seat: as the merging of the First and Final redeemers, expressing the unity of God. Thus even with the flaw of Noah, coupled with Shem’s knowledge of the repair, he allowed his father’s merit to endure; by doing so, he brought Redemption to himself, his father, and the World – all in the realization of Honoring his Father, and subsequently Honoring God. This was the righteousness of Shem, and this was the zeal (a Priestly trait, presumably the merit of Shem becoming a Priest – “Malki Tzedek!”) of which Shem ran into the Ark before evil could latch onto his soul. For this Shem was not short in Amanah / Truth, rather he is the Teacher of this Amanah, notable to Abraham when Abraham found the Priesthood from Shem. Thus context of the debate between Abraham and Noah is missing content that effects connotation, for the meaning between the two opinions of Noah in regards to Abraham, is the open expression of Praise of Shem! But like Rashi says, it is not Derech Eretz to Praise too much to a Righteous Soul. However, Shem received all of his praise in secret, and it is Shem that progresses forward with the secrets of the Redemption, as he is one of the Four Craftsmen termed “the Righteous Priest” along with the two Messiahs. An interesting observation, is that the word for Messiah, “משיח” = שם חי = “Shem Lives!”
In the Parsha of Shelach, the tendency of Man is seen to want to retreat, or at best stay idle; the consequence is exile and the lack of redemption. Shem teaches us the opposite, for even though the guardianship of his father’s merit is seemingly keeping us in exile (for if Shem’s merit would begin, redemption would ensue), it will be Shem’s Truth (that by the nature of Truth allowed the World to endure for 6000 years – so people could share the World to Come with him! Hence, the nature of Shem’s Torah predicated on his righteousness) that will eventually usher in the Messianic Age. When the World wants to relent or waster time idly, think of Shem, the opposite of evil and exile; it was Shem who ran into the Ark, it is Shem who we can run after into the Messianic Age, and learn the Righteousness and Truth from his actions and Torah, something that the Spies Joshua and Caleb, perhaps were searching for, when they prayed at the cave of Machpela and the forefathers. Abraham had a tremendous level of Amanah, as he should, he learned it directly from the mouth of Shem, and where the 9th of Av is the depths of exile, it will one day acknowledge its antidote: Shem ben Noah, who came from a world where there is so much wrong, he is the one Man who got it right; for that he truly is the Righteous Priest.

The former Israeli soldier who was held hostage for more than five years by Muslim extremists is launching a new career — sometime NBA columnist. Former Israeli Army Sgt. Major Gilad Shalit was bound for Oklahoma City on his first assignment for the Jewish state’s leading newspaper, Yediot Ahranot, covering the NBA Finals. He missed Tuesday’s Game 1, when the Thunder trounced the Heat, but was expected in Oklahoma City in time for Game 2. In June 2006, the Palestinian Muslim fundamentalist Hamas movement captured Shalit, then a 19-year-old corporal, in an attack on an Israeli military outpost from the Gaza Strip. He was released eight months ago as part of high-profile prisoner exchange, done in stages, between Hamas and the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Wednesday, the newspaper’s foreign editor said that Shalit, 25, would function as a special correspondent from the NBA Finals and write about the Finals for the weekend newspaper. “He’ll write an article or two about it because he’s a great fan,” said Daniel Bettini by telephone from Tel Aviv. Bettini said that Gilad not written before for any newspaper before this week but that he would likely write a weekly article for Yediot about basketball and other sports “on a permanent basis.” In Oklahoma City, the NBA’s Mike Perrelli said Shalit was being “credentially for all NBA Finals games. I have no timetable on his arrival though.” Perrelli initially said that Shalit applied too late to get a media credential and that all the space in both arenas had been allocated. He amended his response nearly three hours later, after The Miami Herald reported on the special assignment, saying he had misunderstood. It was not immediately known which team the Israeli favored although on April 23, 2009 then-Mayor Manny Diaz issued a proclamation granting the then-hostage Shalit honorary citizenship in Miami. The Heat has several ties to Israel, notably Heat limited partner Raanan Katz is a former member of the Israeli national team and used to own Maccabi Tel Aviv, Israel’s powerhouse basketball team. Miami Heat spokesman Tim Donovan said by email from Oklahoma City that team owner Micky Arison and CEO Nick Arison didn’t know Shalit but looked forward to meeting him.

...it could be worse, much worse...I have faith in you Gilad, I think you'll find Emes!

Gog Luvva! (Maybe?)

Putin coming to Israel: Ok, think Zohar, Gog, and the famed 3 visits upon which will terminate with a burial and Moshiach ben David!
[Putin does seem like a candidate for our elected Nasi: Gog]

Jpost:

Russian President Vladimir Putin is planning to make his first official visit to Israel since 2005, although the exact date for the visit has not yet been determined, the Foreign Ministry said Tuesday. News of Putin's expected visit came as Russia was the center of controversy for its continued support of Syrian President Bashar Assad, despite his brutal crackdown on dissenters. In addition, Russia has been seen as an impediment to harsher international action against Iran for its continued pursuit of nuclear technology. Putin has warned of the dire consequences of a potential Israeli or US attack on the Islamic Republic's nuclear facilities. Related: Putin warns against 'catastrophic' attack on Iran Putin: We support 'peaceful' Iranian nuke program Foreign Minster Avigdor Liberman met with Putin in Moscow in December amid reports that Russia had delivered Yaknot cruise missiles to Syria, despite US and Israeli lobbying against the move. According to a communiqué put out by Liberman’s office following the December meeting, he told Putin that Israel and Russia had different positions on a range of issues, from the diplomatic process with the Palestinians to current developments in the region, but that he hoped Israel’s position on matters such as Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas would get a hearing in Moscow. Regarding the Palestinian issue, Liberman said Russia’s support for unilateral Palestinian moves does not bring an agreement closer or improve relations between Israel and the Palestinians. Israel’s position is that the type of support Russia has articulated for the PA’s moves at the UN only increase the Palestinians’ belief that they can get the world to impose a solution on Israel, thus making it more difficult to lure them to return to the negotiating table. With that, Liberman said ties between the countries are “very positive” 20 years after the renewal of diplomatic relations between them, and that this was manifest in an ongoing political dialogue, in economic and cultural ties and in keeping alive the memory of the Holocaust. Liberman extended an invitation to Putin from Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, who was last in Moscow in early 2010. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev had planned to visit Israel in January 2011, but had to suffice with meeting Palestinian Authority officials in Jericho, where he arrived for a few hours from Jordan, because a Foreign Ministry work dispute prevented a full state visit to Jerusalem.

On the flip side: don't forget about my Putin secret ties with Russian Elect/KGB/Mob of Israel concept. He is either very in with Israel, or so in, he is Gog..one of the two.

It's all in the connections...is this the beginning of the Gilui of the Bias Moshiach?

Pras, Peres, Pollard...and Novelty?

Is the Torah being fulfilled Allegorically?! - "פרס" will fall into the hands of Edom and Edom will fall into the hands of "פרס"

Is this the final details of Iran, Syria, Hizbullah, Pollard, American-Relations for the Future? The time is Novel and now the only question is, how Novel is this trip of Shimon Peres, when the World is oozing of the Novelty that he theoretically represents?

as Rav Eliyahu said: The Shechinah is with Pollard, thus when he goes out, She goes out, and avenues of Geulah commence...matters of Moshiach ben Yosef.
(Moshiach ben Yosef [Menashe] and the Bias Moshiach?)

Syria is right next door, and is imminently imminent.
After Assad, only Iran is left (and a fast rising Egyptian issue 2.0)
"The Galil will be destroyed" - De facto Syria: Hizbullah (Chemicals?)
"Damascus will cease to be a city" - inching to reality? (May Debka finally be right?)

***Point being: is Shimon Peres - "פרס" being the straw that breaks the camel's back? Not to mention the Erev Rav Armilos comparisons.

-or-

Is this just another routine, Nobel Peace Prize like endeavor?! (Arafat, Peres, Obama, etc) They might as well give Rahm Emanuel the Man of the Year Award.

JPost.com:

Anyone who was under the impression that the sole purpose of President Shimon Peres’ visit to the United States next week is to receive the Freedom Medal from President Barack Obama is mistaken. Yes, Peres also hopes to obtain the freedom of convicted spy Jonathan Pollard, who is an Israeli citizen, but the president has a lot more than that on his agenda. Peres, who last traveled to the US in March, is scheduled to leave Israel on Saturday night and will be in America from June 10-15. His round of meetings begins in New York on Sunday, and then he will meet with top ranking representatives of the US media. On Monday, he will fly to Washington and will tour the Pentagon, where he will be welcomed by a military honor guard. Following the welcome, Peres, who is a former defense minister, and the key architect of Israel’s defense establishment, will have working meetings with Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey and heads of the various branches of the armed forces. Peres will discuss strengthening of the strategic political and defense alliance between Israel and the US. On Tuesday Peres will meet with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Long standing friends, the two will participate in a panel discussion on democracy under the aegis of the Saban Forum. The discussion, in the presence of some 200 major political figures, will be moderated by Martin Indyk a former US ambassador to Israel who is currently vice president and director for foreign policy at the Brookings Institution in Washington. Wednesday is Freedom Medal Day, but Peres will also have a presentation to make to Obama – the exchange of letters between Chaim Weizmann and Harry Truman at the dawn of the establishment of the State of Israel. The presentation ceremony will be followed by a festive dinner at the White House. On Thursday, Peres will meet with leading politicians in Washington and will also have a series of meetings with the media throughout the day. If he is successful in persuading Obama to release Pollard, the focus of his media interviews will be less on Iran and more on Pollard who has been incarcerated for 27 years. In the evening Peres will be the guest of honor at a reception hosted by Israel Ambassador Michael Oren who met with Peres less than a month ago when he was in Israel for the visit by US Secretary for Homeland Security Janet Napolitano. Peres will return to Israel on Friday. On June 19, the President’s Conference Facing Tomorrow opens; The Jerusalem Post Editor-in-Chief Steve Linde will moderate one of the panels.

Yovel: The Great Shabbos Inching Near

Yovel:

In the Yovel, all is returned after 50 years (a time of Great Shabbos)

Look at the World: Everything has gone too far: Politics, Economy, Science, Technology, Entertainment, etc, etc...all are outdated and need a cosmic clock reset!

Since the World is now responding to Yovel like a baby who refuses to go to sleep, the World is literally inching along.

Bailouts -inching; needs reset
Elections -inching; needs overhaul
Policy -inching; needs reform (Constitution anyone?)
Science -inching; return to basic Physics?
Sports - inching ; needs to return to a purist's form
Technology - inching; needs overhaul and reset to align!

The old saying is: 20th Century infrastructure with 21st Century issues. The answer: reset the Clock! (Mayan Calendar anyone? And not as a dream, but rather a practical solution!)

As the need for reset weighs down, EVERYTHING is inching along...Assad, Iran, Obama, LHC, every sector of Wisdom.

The main point of this story is the bailout in the EU. Read the new2s, and yes Spain got a bailout. And yes this will work for even another few years with any luck. But when we take the Sof Zman for Geulah, yes, 5775 looks to be the last possible time, not because of a Zohar prediction, but can the World endure to 5776? -Good Luck!

In the meantime...life is inching by, Emunah is tested, but in the End, Torah wins...not some shady bailout scheme or promising the God Particle next year.
Eventually Moshiach will be everyone's solution, but by then we will all have succumbed to inching along, to which it is said: Moshiach will come by surprise...and this is getting more and more true each day, no matter how much Kavanah people seem to have (or seem to not have).

YahooNews:

Spain's grinding economic misery will get worse this year, despite the country's request for a European financial lifeline of up to €100 billion ($125 billion) to save its banks, Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said Sunday.
A day after the country conceded it needed outside help following months of denying it would seek assistance, Rajoy said more Spaniards will lose their jobs in a country where one out of every four are already unemployed.
"This year is going to be a bad one," Rajoy said Sunday in his first comments about the rescue since it was announced the previous evening by his economy minister.
The conservative prime minister added that the economy, stuck in its second recession in three years, will still contract the previously predicted 1.7 percent in 2012 even with the help.
Spain on Saturday became the fourth — and largest — of the 17 countries that use Europe's common currency to request a bailout. This is a big blow to a nation that a few years ago took pride as the continent's economic superstar only to see it become the hot spot in the eurozone debt crisis. Its economy is the eurozone's fourth largest after Germany, France and Italy.
Although Spain has not yet said how much money it would seek, the Eurogroup — finance ministers of the 17-country eurozone, of which Spain is a member — said in a statement Saturday that it was prepared to lend up to €100 billion. The funds, which will come from one of three pools of emergency financing eurozone countries can access, will be sent to the Spanish government's Fund for Orderly Bank Restructuring (FROB), which would then use the money to strengthen the country's teetering banks.
Across the country, Spaniards reacted with a mixture of anger and relief to the news. The full amount of the eurogroup's lifeline amounts to €21,000 of new debt for each person — almost equal to the average salary in a country of 47 million where the unemployment rate for those under age 25 is 52 percent.
The country is already reeling from deep austerity cuts Rajoy has imposed over the last six months that have raised taxes, made it easier to hire and fire workers, and cut deep into cherished government programs, including education and national health care.
"It's obviously a shame," said civil servant Luisa Saraguren, 44, as she strolled on a sunny Sunday morning with her young daughter. "But this bailout was fully predictable, and the consequences of this help are going to be a lot bigger compared to the cuts we've been living with already."
Rajoy took pains to avoid the word bailout Sunday, saying Spain's rescue package is a line of credit that its most troubled banks will be able to tap. The assistance will not come with the outside control over government macroeconomic policy like that imposed Greece, Ireland and Portugal when their public finances were bailed out.
He said interest rates on the loans will be considerably lower than the rate near 7 percent that Spain has been forced to pay recently on the international debt markets, a level that forced the other countries to seek bailouts. The government will be responsible for collecting repayments from the banks, with interest, and returning the money to the Eurogroup, although interest rates and loan duration details have not yet been revealed.
German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said Spain's debt to GDP ratio was more favorable that even Germany's, with Spain at 78 percent of GDP and Germany's at 82 percent.
"Spain is making the necessary reforms to improve its competitiveness and to limit its fiscal policy to a sustainable deficit. By the way, Spain's overall debt (ratio) is lower than Germany's," Schaeuble said.
The bailout also spurred Irish opposition finance spokesman Michael McGrath to criticize his government for not having negotiated better terms, saying it needed "to start fighting Ireland's corner in a more vigorous and forceful way."
Spain hopes to regain the economic credibility it has lost by shoring up its banks. This should result in credit being restored so businesses and individuals shut off from loans can start borrowing and the economy will grow again, Rajoy insisted, again without saying when.
Europe's widening recession and financial crisis have hurt companies and investors around the world. Providing a financial lifeline to Spanish banks is likely to relieve anxiety on the Spanish economy — which is five times larger than Greece's — and on markets concerned about the country's ability to pay its way.
Spain's government will make a formal approach for aid once independent audits of the country's banking industry have been carried out.
It is not yet clear whether the money will come from the EU's €440 billion European Financial Stability Facility, the new €500 billion European Stability Mechanism, or a combination of the two.
The deal is to be underwritten by the Spanish state, which will use the FROB as its mechanism to funnel the loan to banks in need. Opposition leader Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba said he had discussed the loan with Rajoy and added that for it not to increase the national deficit the entire amount borrowed will have to be paid back to the treasury by the banks, "including the corresponding interests."
Economy minister Luis de Guindos said 30 percent of the banking system needed recapitalization. The IMF in its financial stability assessment report said, without listing names, that Spain's two large internationally active banks "are well diversified." It is understood that these are Banco Santander and BBVA.
It said seven former savings banks that have received state support "rely significantly on FROB for capital and liquidity support" and that other medium and small private sector banks which account for approximately 11 percent of domestic banking were also exposed to the real estate and construction sector.
Spain's financial problems are not due to Greek-style government over-spending. The country's banks, particularly its savings banks or "cajas," got caught up in the collapse of a real estate bubble in 2008 that got worse over the past four years. However, as Spain's leaders have struggled for a solution to their banking crisis, the country's borrowing costs have soared close to the level that forced the governments of Greece, Portugal and Ireland to seek rescues.
Some of Spain's banks are struggling with toxic real estate loans and assets amid fears the problem will get worse as more jobless people can't pay their mortgages. The Bank of Spain says the toxic loans and assets total around €180 billion. Nationalized lender Bankia SA, which has requested €19 billion in aid, has €32 billion in toxic assets. Around four other banks serving the domestic market were assessed by the IMF report to have large exposure to corporate and retail real estate lending.
"I could never get my mind round the scale of consumption in Spain over the past 20 years, having known it in the 1960s when it was still extremely poor," said Paul Preston, a history professor and expert on Spain with the London School of Economics. "Lots of people enjoyed the consumer boom, but not everybody. Now everybody's having to pay for it."
Rajoy blamed Spain's woes on the previous Socialist administration of Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero without mentioning him or his government by name. Zapatero was ousted by Rajoy in a landslide in November by voters outraged over the Socialist handling of the economy.
"Last year Spain's public administration spent €90 billion more than it took in. This can't be maintained. We can't live like that," Rajoy said.
But Socialist Party leader Rubalcaba said Rajoy should acknowledge that Spain is now in bailout territory.
"The government is trying to make us believe that we've won the lottery, that the Three Kings of Orient have arrived, and that isn't so," Rubalcaba said.
After his news conference, Rajoy defended his decision to jet off an hour later to Poland to see Spain's famed national football team take on Italy in the Euro 2012 competition. He said he would be on the ground in Gdansk only for the game before flying back to Madrid on Sunday night.
"I'll be there 2 ½ hours and then I'll leave," Rajoy said. "I think the national team deserves it."
Rajoy was seen cheering as Cesc Fabregas equalized to give Spain a 1-1 draw against Italy.

The Problems are mounting....and solutions are decaying...and Moshiach is delaying.
From here onwards, perhaps Emunah is rising?

The Golden Empire of Doom: Esav and Yishmael

..."And the Gold of the Land was Good."
...[of the 8th Edomite King] ( representing Geulah) "Bat Mei Zahav" -  (end letters=Bayit/House) : What is Gold? (Rashi) :The wealthy who have so much no longer recognize Gold. (interestingly enough it is hinting towards "Houses" i.e. housing crisis.

The Torah is adamant about Gold in many places..why is it so "good?"

GwinnettDailyOnline:

According to a select group of global analysts, the price of gold will more than likely double by the end of Q3 and could quite possibly approach the $5k per ounce level near year's end. This bold forecast has very little to do with dismal economic performance in US markets, although re-election of current US leadership in November is expected to help it along significantly. The actual cause of this predicted trend lies primarily with European leadership's unwillingness to take the bold steps necessary to repair the colossal problems with their debt. Most analysts agree that the floundering has gone on far too long and decision makers are far too comfortable with allowing correction opportunities to expire time and time again. Those who are in a position to make the tough decisions to salvage what little opportunity remains continue to do what they've been doing - which is nothing. They have their riches stashed away to live out their lives in the comforts of wealth. They refuse to be saddled with the legacy of the financial mess that's been festering for so long. The responsibility of the future will fall upon new shoulders after the current heads of state step down and retire. By then, the new individuals will be begging Germany to come to their aid at just about any cost. Only then, things will have gotten so bad that Germany will be demanding all of each country’s gold reserves and that’s just the beginning. It will seem like Germany is getting the old band back together – only without the violence and destruction. It will be at this point that the multitudes are expected to abandon near worthless paper currency for a gold-based economy and demand is expected to drive the price in excess of $5,000 per ounce within the year. This is the forecast that the aforementioned analysts are predicting and by the looks of the lack of any meaningful progress with Euro Debt - it's difficult to argue differently.

Spain became the fourth and largest country to ask Europe to rescue its failing banks, a bailout of up to €100 billion ($125 billion) that leaders hoped would stabilize a financial crisis that threatens to break apart the 17-country eurozone.
The rescue offer follows growing pressure from international investors and the Obama administration and comes a week before elections in Greece, whose voters could decide whether the country leaves the euro.
Europe's widening recession and financial crisis has hurt companies and investors around the world. Providing a financial lifeline to Spanish banks is likely to relieve anxiety on the Spanish economy — which is five times larger than Greece's — and on markets concerned about the country's ability to pay its way.
"What the markets are looking for is essentially the Spanish government's acceptance that its banks are broke," said Jacob Kirkegaard, a research fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics in Washington, Saturday.
Economy Minister Luis de Guindos announced the deal after an emergency conference call with eurozone financial leaders. He said the aid will go to the banking sector only and would not come with new austerity conditions attached for the economy in general — conditions that have been an integral part of previous bailouts to Portugal, Ireland and Greece.
The exact figure of the bailout has not yet been decided. De Guindos said the country is waiting until independent audits of the country's banking sector have been carried out before asking for a specific amount. The audits are expected June 21 at the latest.
De Guindos did say, however, that Spain would request enough money for recapitalization, plus a safety margin that will be "significant."
With markets in turmoil, de Guindos said the government's efforts to shore up the financial sector "must be completed with the necessary resources to finance the needs of recapitalization."
Finance ministers of the 17 countries that use the euro said the money would be fed directly into a fund Spain set up to recapitalize its banks, but underscored that the Spanish government is ultimately responsible for the loan.
Still, that plan allows Spain to avoid making the onerous commitments that Greece, Ireland and Portugal were forced to when they sought their rescues. Instead, the eurogroup statement said that it expected Spain's banking sector to implement reforms and that Spain would be held to its previous commitments to reform its labor market and manage its deficit.
The eurogroup statement said that meant the cost could reach €100 billion.
The Spanish acceptance of aid for its banks is a big embarrassment for Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, who insisted just 10 days ago that the banking sector would not need a bailout. He was elected in November and walked right into a hurricane.
International pressure on Spain to solve its financial problems has grown more urgent in recent weeks. On Thursday ratings agency Fitch hit Spain with a three-notch downgrade of its credit rating. That left it two levels above junk status. Then on Friday, Moody's Investor Services warned it could downgrade Spain and other countries in the eurozone.
The International Monetary Fund early Saturday released a report estimating that Spanish banks need a recapitalization injection of at least €40 billion ($50 billion) following a stress test it performed on the country's financial sector. That report came out three days ahead of schedule, underscoring the urgency of the situation.
And U.S. President Barack Obama, facing re-election, enduring a weak economy and in need of strong trading partners, expressed strong concern late Friday over the European economic crisis.
U.S Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner welcomed Spain's decision and the offer of European support, describing them as "important for the health of Spain's economy and as concrete steps on the path to financial union, which is vital to the resilience of the euro area."
French Finance Minister Pierre Moscovici said the deal would "contribute to restoring confidence in the eurozone."
"The accord announced tonight speaks to a reinforced solidary among the countries of the eurozone and to their resolute desire to ensure its stability," he said in a statement.
Spain's financial problems are not due to Greek-style government over-spending. The country's banks got caught up in the collapse of a real estate bubble. However, as Spain's leaders have struggled for a solution to their banking crisis, the country's borrowing costs have soared close to the level that forced the governments of Greece, Portugal and Ireland to seek rescues.
Some of Spain's banks are struggling with by toxic real estate loans and assets. The Bank of Spain says they total around €180 billion. Nationalized lender Bankia, SA, which has requested €19 billion in aid, has €32 billion in toxic assets. Around four other banks are considered prime candidates for bailouts. De Guindos said Saturday the sector is largely solid and the euro zone package will be funnel toward only about 30 percent of it.
Analyst Rafael Pampillon if IE Business School in Madrid said the bailout addressed the uncertainty the markets had felt about how Spain's debt-laden banking sector would recapitalize.
"This uncertainty, and hence the panic, will slowly dissipate from the markets," he said. Pampillon added that with polls forecasting a pro-Euro victory in Greek elections, markets would be further relieved because the austerity conditions imposed on Greece would most likely be fulfilled.
Eswar Prasad, a Cornell University trade policy professor and senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, said the decision "buys some temporary breathing room for the eurozone."
Moody's said Spain's banking problem is largely confined to that country and not likely to spill over to other eurozone nations, with the exception of Italy — where the European Central Bank has already stepped in to buy government bonds as a way to help lower the country's borrowing costs.
Spain has been criticized for being too slow to set out a roadmap to resolve its problem. European business leaders and analysts have stressed that Spain must find a solution quickly so that it is not caught up in any market turmoil sparked by the June 17 Greek elections. There are concerns that anti-bailout left-wing party Syriza could become the largest party in the Greek parliament, putting the country's membership in the eurozone at risk.
Working in Spain's favor is the fact that its public debt is actually quite low, at 68.5 percent of its gross domestic product at the end of 2011.
Its debt is predicted to hit 78 percent by the end of the year, but even that figure would be below the debt-to-GDP ratios of Europe's strongest economy, Germany, which is at 82 percent.
But Spain's in its second recession in three years, with unemployment at nearly 25 percent and little hope for improvement this year. Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy's government has imposed a wave of austerity measures since he took office in December that have raised taxes, made it cheaper to hire and fire workers and cut government funding for education and health care.

There is an Economic Black Hole gorging on Earth.  The fears that people had with the LHC was that it could spawn a Black Hole. With Comet Elenin, it was thought that its effect on Earth was through "Mazal." {Am Yisrael is ABOVE Mazal} -
Is Mankind acting out "The End of Days" and "Doom" through Mazal - based- actions? If the World is susceptible to such behavior, and if the Age of Aquarius is upon Mankind, i.e. the Messianic Age, then  Man, who is the vessel of Creation, could be the instrument to identify doom, trends, and most importantly -NOVELTY.
We are seeing Yishmael fall, Edom collapse, Zion rising, all NOVEL...while the doom seems to be getting less and less?! There will be Doom, but perhaps Men of Mazal will depict the Divine Broadway that ultimately will begin telling the story of Redemption.
To be amongst Bnei-Torah in these times, with Wisdom of Torah {and being Above Mazal} provides an objective lens of which to observe what the World is doing. When we open our eyes, and gaze at the ruins of Olam HaZeh, the things we were told and that we fear of (or expect) are/is happening right before us!
...as the Chofetz Chaim said: "if you ponder the Bias Moshiach you will feel it. If you do not ponder it, you will feel nothing at all."
There is plenty of Novelty to Ponder. Our job is to find it, connect to it, and remove the veil of Geulah, so the Shechinah can shine forth, and lay witness for all of Mankind!

Shem and Jethro: The Two Sinai Noahides

Jethro: Continuing Shem at Sinai

Rabbi David P. Katz

In this week’s Torah Portion of Beha’aloscha we encounter a very interesting junction in the Torah that naturally sheds light on the exact nature of Jethro and his “conversion” status. As we suddenly happen upon Moses and his request of Jethro to remain with the Jewish People, the Torah relates a series of poor behavior by the Jewish People, such that the Torah in the Hebrew has placed two upside down letter “Nun’s” (ננ) to make a break in the flow. The Torah then takes this opportunity for Moses to address the Ark of the Covenant to journey and defeat Israel’s enemies. One interesting fact to note in this exchange is that between the upside down Nun’s, the text consists of 85 letters. This happens to be the minimum amount of components to comprise a proper book and subsequently the commentators call this digression “the hidden book within the Torah.” It is then explained that the Torah went on a digression so that the poor behavior would have a break as to not impose a grudgeful image upon the Jewish People and to inspire repentance. When one continues to look into matters in this auspicious text, there is yet another mystery; one that also holds weight and suggests the passing of judgment on the Jewish People: “what is the reality with Jethro?” The point of contention has repercussions in understanding whether or not Jethro was right to leave and come back twice, or if the Jewish People were right or wrong in their dealings with Jethro.

After the traveling in the encampments had settled down, we find Moses engaging Jethro his Father-in-law saying, “We are journeying to the place of which Hashem has said, ‘I shall give it to you.’ Go with us and we shall treat you well, for Hashem has spoken of good for Israel.” Upon which Jethro responded, “I shall not go; but rather to my land and to my family shall I go.” Moses returns and says, “Please do not forsake us, inasmuch as you know our encampments in the wilderness, and you have been as eyes for us. And it shall be that if you come with us, then with that goodness with which Hashem will benefit us, we will do good with you.”

Before delving into the matters of Jethro [in a linear fashion explaining each step of the way that Moses, the Jewish People, and Jethro all interacted and what they really meant], let it first be known why [if Jethro has been in conversion to Noahide] there would be a precedent for Jethro to leave Mt. Sinai at the Giving of the Torah only to return and leave again at our current position in Beha’aloscha.

A Noahide is a proper Noahide by two essential components: He is a Noahide, presumably going back to Noah either by genealogy or in concept and by accepting the Torah and Her Seven Laws as was dictated to Moses by God on Mt. Sinai. Assuming that these conditions are reached, one is an authentic Noahide. The essential father of these conditions, albeit in a unique way is Shem: the son of Noah, with the only difference in that he accepted the Torah from his father Noah instead of Moses. It should be noted however that Noah was reincarnated into Moses! Thus Shem was the first Noahide and from him there would be a tradition of Noahide that would eventually root in Sinai. [Shem was present in Sinai for 1300 years for this reason – to guarantee and promote the Noahide and Torah until firmly established on Earth forever which happened with the advent of King Solomon. It was King Solomon that relieved Shem of duty, freeing him to go on to his next ultimate mission: Redemption.] Once at Sinai, the Torah was given, and the path of the Noahide was now being routed at Sinai. This path would be authentic according to what Noah and Shem had established in the beginning. If Abraham was a “pre-Israelite” and Moses was then the first “Sinai-Jew”, then Shem and Noah would be the “primordial Noahides” [based on absolute righteousness] and at Sinai there would need to be an authentic Noahide, that would become through the Torah’s mandate of having this achieved by going through the Torah, Moses and Sinai. Jethro was the elected one to merit this rite, and we see from the Scriptures that Jethro’s peculiar behavior was not peculiar at all – he was becoming a Noahide as Noahides would become and be rooted through Sinai and Moses for all of time, thereby extending Noah and Shem for eternity! With this in mind, Jethro did not abandon the Jewish People and show ambivalent behavior towards being Jewish; rather he was being a perfect and authentic example of how a Noahide honors Hashem while walking the Ultimate Path of the Righteous Gentile. The Torah would go on to call this level of existence a “Ger Tzedek” – a righteous convert[/s(ion)] implying that Jethro was in constant conversion [from Love of God as opposed to Fear of God, which would be the manner to convert to Judaism according to the Talmud.] to the point that he was called a convert. From this even though we can technically term Jethro perhaps a convert to Judaism, but the consistency in the Verses and proper understanding of the Torah is to realize that these terms and Jethro’s behavior was the highest order of compliment of being a Noahide! [The first Noahide of Sinai thereby honoring the missions of Shem and Noah!]

When we delve into the comments made by the commentator Rashi on these Verses, the dialogue between Moses, Jethro, and the Jews does not fully add up, unless we address the Truth of Jethro as a Noahide! From that point on, Moses doesn’t ship out Jethro from haste or ill-will; rather he is addressing him as a Noahide! Jethro isn’t abandoning the Jewish People [and Hashem for that matter]; rather he is making it possible to be a Noahide! For if Jethro would have stayed and repaired schism, he would receive his Torah, Moses would receive for the Jews, and this would spawn to Individual Nations that would soon split, divorce, and never find Unity, leaving the World fractured eternally. Thus if Jethro leaves and accepts the Torah from Moses, then we find that from schism comes the ultimate repair of schism, one that the scar of the original schism would become a sweetened spot and association of Love and Hashem’s Goodness! And finally, the Jewish complaints simply do not make sense if Jethro is a Jew, yet when we see Jethro as the Noahide, all of a sudden the Jews are left wondering, “Why would Jethro want to be a Noahide as opposed to being a Jew? Does he really Love God as much as he claims? He probably just Fears God like any other Jew!”

The simple answer to the Jewish complaint is that Jethro is not Jewish! Everything adds up for Jethro to be a Noahide, one that is in conversion of his soul to be one of a Lover of God, much like Shem his Father who was called “Shem My Lover!” [Of God] Thereby Moses then addresses Jethro – “are you sure you do not want to be a Jew? You are of superb caliber as it was you who knew of our encampments and again it was you who he even invented the Sanhedrin!” And yet again, Jethro expresses that he is a Noahide and by doing so he shows the capabilities of this Noahide Nation that he was essentially the father of from Sinai, as he inherited the Mission of Shem and Noah! In closing, we find that Jethro was not acting strange or in deviance at all, rather he was fulfilling his destiny as a servant of God! After all, only two Men had ever used the term, “Baruch Hashem” / “Blessed is Hashem!” Noah and Jethro! The Gematria [numerical Value] of Baruch Hashem is the same as Joseph still lives (254). This was Jacob’s cry upon finding out that Joseph in fact did not die. The same can be applied to Noah and Jethro: That which Noah started – Still Lives! As with Sinai, Jethro Lives! And the Noahides Still Live! The fulfillment of this will be with Moshiach Ben David, whose main task as the King Messiah is to give an additional thirty commandments to the Noahides, and as it is said of David: David Lives Forever! The Noahides in their expansion that will resonate equality and the sweetness from schism that has found Unity and Love will also be able to proudly say: Alive Forever with new found intention that will merit yet another Baruch Hashem!

Baruch Hashem for Jethro, for through him, Sinai was complete, from Shem, to Moses, and to the future of the World and its existence. There is a lot to learn from Jethro, such that even the nature of Truth must be fully understood to be fair in how one sees reality. The Torah had a string of ill advised behavior from the Jews in the Torah Portion, and if one reacts too quickly, he may pass judgment upon Jethro, in a sensitive area in the Torah that is trying to express only good points in People and the Nation of Israel. Not only should one in the passage be careful with Jethro, for his misinterpretation may only add fuel to the fire. Yet if one sees the merit of Jethro in the location of the upside down Nun’s, perhaps not only is there a repair in the Torah’s string of bad events, and judgment can then be a source of merit, but perhaps this is a Divine message of the repair of schism. Jethro is the hero of this repair, and even though Jethro accepted Noahide and Torah from Moses on Sinai, let us not forget the bigger picture and the original repair of schism that Jethro and Sinai are really pointing to: Shem and Abraham! Sinai is the perpetuation of Malki Tzedek and Abraham, upon which Moses and Jethro took on that relationship in an eternal Torah form. Yet we can always look at the blueprint: Shem pushed Abraham into Judaism to the same tune that Jethro was compelled into being a Noahide. And even amidst two [new] radically different Nations that Shem had now developed, there has never been Brotherhood like Shem and Abraham…that is not until Moses and Jethro found each other [and with the testimony that that was in fact the Truth], a meeting that is destined for the Future, when the schism will be eternally healed, honoring Shem and the forefathers onwards, enclothed amongst the Jewish People and the Noahides that together, will embrace each other, and the Redemption, which will be ushered in by none other than the Righteous priest, “Shem the son of Noah.”

Shabbat Shalom: May we continue with Sinai, and thereby continue into the Bias Moshiach! {as the Chofetz Chaim stated about the Geulah...and bring Merit of the Kohen Tzedek - Shem along with the other Craftsmen: MBD ,MBY ,and Eliyahu!
